🏊 Swimming Education
Evidence-based swimming education for children, teenagers and adults.
Iran’s Home of Swimming (IRSWIM) is an independent initiative dedicated to swimming education, water safety and drowning prevention. By combining scientific knowledge, international best practices and evidence-based education, we strive to make swimming accessible to everyone. We believe swimming is far more than a sport—it is a life skill that improves health, builds confidence and saves lives.
Iran’s Home of Swimming (IRSWIM) was founded on the belief that swimming is much more than a sport—it is an essential life skill. Our mission goes beyond teaching swimming techniques. Through education, research, public awareness and water safety, we work to improve public health and reduce drowning.
Our activities are built around four core pillars:
Evidence-based swimming education for children, teenagers and adults.
Promoting safe behaviour in swimming pools, rivers, lakes and coastal waters.
Supporting education, advocacy and community initiatives to reduce preventable drowning.
Producing and sharing reliable educational resources based on international evidence.
“Swimming is a life skill that improves quality of life—and in a critical moment, it can save a life.”
Swimming is one of the most valuable life skills anyone can learn. Beyond improving physical and mental health, learning to swim builds confidence and significantly reduces the risk of drowning. At Iran’s Home of Swimming, our educational approach follows international standards and is tailored to the needs of every age group.
Whether you are entering the pool for the first time, improving your technique or training for higher performance, our educational resources are designed to help every swimmer learn safely and effectively.
The best time to learn to swim is during childhood. Structured swimming education for children improves physical fitness, coordination, confidence and social skills. More importantly, learning to swim at an early age significantly reduces the risk of drowning.
At IRSWIM, children’s swimming education is based on play, building water confidence and gradual skill development. Our goal is to help children build a safe, positive and enjoyable relationship with water.
It is never too late to learn to swim. Many adults never learned to swim due to lack of opportunity, fear of water or inadequate instruction. With structured education, almost anyone can learn to swim at any age.
At IRSWIM, adult swimming education respects individual learning pace, reduces anxiety and builds confidence through step-by-step instruction. Whether you want to overcome fear of water, learn basic swimming or improve your technique, we provide the right guidance for you.
Private swimming lessons are the best choice for individuals who want to learn quickly with a customised programme tailored to their specific needs. In this format, the instructor’s full attention is dedicated to one student, allowing for faster progress and more focused skill development.
Private lessons are ideal for children, adults, individuals with water anxiety, athletes refining their technique and those with limited time. One-on-one instruction ensures that technical errors are corrected more precisely and the student gains confidence more rapidly.
Lifeguarding is not just a physical skill—it is a human responsibility to protect the lives of others. A professional lifeguard must possess physical fitness, knowledge of water safety, risk assessment, accident prevention and rescue operations.
IRSWIM draws on extensive educational and operational experience in lifeguarding and drowning prevention to provide educational content, specialised articles and scientific resources for lifeguards, instructors and the wider community. Our goal is to promote a culture of prevention, because the best rescue is one that never needs to happen.
Everything we do is guided by a shared set of values that shape our educational, research and public awareness activities.
Delivering swimming education based on science, international standards and practical experience.
Promoting safe behaviour in and around all aquatic environments.
Reducing preventable drowning is our highest priority.
Learning never stops. We continuously improve our knowledge and educational resources.
Water safety is a shared responsibility for families, educators, organisations and communities.
Learning from global best practices and adapting them to local needs.
Iran’s Home of Swimming was founded on a simple belief: No one should lose their life in water because they lacked knowledge, education or access to reliable information.
Years of experience in swimming education, lifesaving, officiating, sport management and drowning prevention have shown me that many drowning incidents are entirely preventable.
IRSWIM was therefore created not merely as a swimming school, but as an independent initiative dedicated to swimming education, research, public awareness and drowning prevention.
If our work helps even one person make a safer decision around water and save a life, we have achieved our most important goal.
